Week 10: San Diego!

 Hello everyone,

    Last weekend, I went to the MESA Student Leadership Conference. We flew to San Diego, and I got to meet fellow MESA Scholars and attend professional development workshops. I enjoyed working with my team the most. We were presented with a UN Sustainability Goal and had to make a solution to address it.

    We were given UN Goal 12, which was sustainable consumption and production. By scanning your receipt, we made an app and optional device that provides consumers with a list of expiration dates (recommended by the FDA and not the manufacturer). It prevents food waste by giving you the actual expiration date and not the best-by date. It also gives you recipes for the items that will expire soon and alerts you a couple days before it does.
