Week 10: Preparing for Catalyst!
Hello everyone,
This week, I had to travel for Phi Theta Kappa's international convention, Catalyst 2024! I had to fly to Orlando, Florida, and we had to stay at the Gaylord Hotel. It was extremely nice and was a pretty intense experience. I had to host an educational forum, and about 120 people attended. It was the most popular educational forum of the weekend! It was about addressing microaggressions and calling people "in" instead of "out." It was made to support diversity, equity, and inclusivity initiatives in Arizona. As a regional board, we made that our region's priority for the year, and it ended up being a great success. We won a ton of awards, both as a region and as a chapter for Phoenix College. For the first time in Phoenix College's 60+ year PTK history (as the oldest PTK chapter in Arizona, as well), we are top 10 in the world! Our research was published in two national academic journals, too. It was a really great weekend!
Best,
Maya Lee
